ConsenSys Mesh is one of the largest and most foundational entities in the Web 3.0 space. Known as simply ConsenSys when Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin founded it in 2015, its worldwide “Mesh” of people, projects, and companies represents the bleeding edge of Web 3.0.
One of the ways ConsenSys Mesh amplifies and accelerates their work is through the funding of groundbreaking technology. Its portfolio includes more than 190 companies and organizations, representing more than 250 founders. One of these portfolio companies is ConsenSys Software Inc., now commonly referred to as “ConsenSys”, a market-leading blockchain technology company in the Ethereum ecosystem. ConsenSys Software Inc. was spun out from ConsenSys Mesh in 2020 to work on a blockchain product stack that includes other Mesh-incubated projects like MetaMask and Infura.
As ConsenSys Software Inc. continues its work to build Ethereum blockchain infrastructure and applications for new economic systems that are more open, efficient, and secure, ConsenSys Mesh is focused on championing a progressive Web 3.0. Its network of founders, companies and projects (called Meta-Mesh) is leading the growth of DeFi, DAO governance and tooling, software and blockchain protocol development, and more. Their impact extends across the worlds of tech, finance, art, social media, entertainment, gaming & more. ConsenSys Mesh also offers an intensive 12-week accelerator, Tachyon, for early start-ups and is home to a pioneering Research & Development team spearheading groundbreaking technological advancements that support the wider ecosystem and the Mesh portfolio.
